Online media workshop: China’s “Two Sessions” 2023 — The state of play
In March, the so-called “Two Sessions” will kick off in Beijing: The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will begin on March 4. One day later, the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) will open its first annual session. At the NPC, a successor to the outgoing Premier Li Keqiang will officially be elected and other formal state positions will be confirmed in line with the decisions made at last year’s party congress.
The statements and decisions made at the congress will provide information about the direction China will take in 2023. What is on the agenda at this year’s sessions? Which topics will be worth covering? What post-Covid policy changes can we expect?
