Transatlantic Conference on China
The Munich Security Conference (MSC), the German Federal Foreign Office and MERICS jointly conceived the virtual "Transatlantic Conference on China" on September 30, 2020, which was attended by high-ranking ministerial representatives, political advisors and experts from the USA, Canada and EU member states.
Given the challenges posed by China's increasingly self-confident behavior in foreign and security policy, the conference’s aim was to develop joint recommendations for action on both sides of the Atlantic. The 50 participants agreed to continue the dialogue about the relationship between the USA, China and Europe with representatives from think tanks in the USA and Europe.
